WHY HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS CLUBS?
Approximately 14 million High School Students attend school in America, and of that number nearly 70 percent in California have never attended a youth group or a church. Is it surprising that many students say they really don’t know or feel they have a purpose in life? Despite the technology of the “Information age” and the prevalence of social media, some societal experts say, “They (our youth) are more connected but never more alone.”
OUR STORY
It all began in 2014 when Pastor Ralph Hernandez, a longtime youth pastor and at the time an Associate Pastor of a local church was invited to become the team chaplain to act as a positive role model and encourager. This was a definite challenge and a bit intimidating for Pastor Ralph who never played football nor was he an armchair sports enthusiast. In fact, he knew next to nothing about football, but felt he had been handed a divine opportunity to speak into the lives of young people.
Materials for Learning
Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date. We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current textbooks that are age appropriate and written in their primary language.
Continuing Education for Teachers
We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
“With the support from Lusaka, we have been able to serve our students better than ever.”
— Alonzo F., School Principal
